  • Chávez - Safety & Security Measure W

    Completed: August 2024 Budget: $480,358.87

Chávez Middle School was chosen as one of the two pilot program sites to implement the District-Wide Safety & Security initiative. State-of-the-art audio-visual technology was installed in all teaching spaces, enhancing the safety of staff and students. This cross-functional technology also allows for recording lectures for teaching purposes, providing educational benefits beyond the security improvements.

  • Chávez - Shade Structure Measure W

    Completed: March 2024 Budget: $191,838.78

The summer of 2023 enhancement project at Chávez Middle School featured two new 20'x15' fabric shade structures complemented by decorative concrete seat walls. These additions provide essential sun protection while creating functional gathering spaces for students during outdoor activities and learning sessions. The structures integrate seamlessly with the existing campus aesthetic, enhancing the outdoor experience for the school community.

  • Chávez - New Construction Proposition G

    Completed: July 2008 Budget: $26,102,349.00

Originally, "Murray Bridge", Chávez Middle School is a new 37-classroom school that includes science laboratories, administration, library, multi-purpose, shower/locker facilities, kitchen and food court areas, in addition to play areas with soccer and baseball fields, and hard courts for basketball, handball, and tennis. Modular and two-story design concepts have been incorporated for space efficiency, cost-savings and diverse functionality. The school is located adjacent to the 29-acre Mance Buchanon Park, providing additional recreation facilities.
